Does Gelatine really help your nails grow??? Come find out with me...

Hi all... The other day (Friday, Feb 22) I figured I would do a little test to see if it's true if Gelatin (I know it sounds really crazy) really helps your nails grow...

So if you would like to keep following my progress with this little test or would like to do it with me then let me know because I would love to know how it's going for you.

Here is what I did.  I soaked my nail in the Gelatin for 2 minutes (here is the recipe to follow):

Mix 3 teaspoons of the Gelatin with 1 cup of boiling water. Let the mixture cool enough to soak your fingers in. Soak your fingers for 2 minutes. After your done wash and dry your hands. You can save the left over Gelatin for about 2 months. Next time you go to use the Gelatin mixture just microwave it.

After I soaked my nails I filed them and cleaned up my cuticle. Next I put a base coat on my nails, I used Orly Top 2 Bottom, then painted them with Orly (not sure of what the name of the color is but it's a natural color).

So here is the end results of what my nails look like. I'll keep posting picture of the length of my nails.

If you have any questions about this process or anything please let me know.

How to clean your make-up brushes

I try to clean my make-up brushes at least once a week. It's easy once you keep up with cleaning them. If you don't keep them clean then you can get all kinds of nasty bacteria in your brushes (yuck who wants that?!!).

To start off you will need a few things.

  • Baby shampoo (I use this for my brushes, but brush cleaner works too)
  • 2 bowls (1 to put some shampoo in & 1 for warm water)
  • Dry clean towel

Get all your brushes together that you want to wash (yes I have alot to wash)

Dip your brush in the bowl of warm water then in the bowl with the baby shampoo and scrub the brush with your hand. Make sure you rinse your brush under warm running water.

When your done rinsing the brush squeeze the excess water out and put you brush back to the original shape.

Depending on how many brushes you are washing make sure you rinse out the bowl that has the baby shampoo and add some more (gross, I had to do this a couple times since I had alot of my brushes to wash).

After your all done you will have some happy make up brushes ready to use after they are all dried.

My view on Revlon Photoready Airbrush Foundation

Lately I've been using the Revlon Photoready Airbrush foundation and so far I'm loving it. It's so light and fluffy (or should I say mousse). I'll let your all know about after a month if I still like it. Most of the time I have oily skin so it's hard to find a good foundation without it running off my face by the end of the day (not sure if you wanted to know that, haha).

For your pets that have to take medication

This is just my review on this product from Greenies.

If you have a pet that has to take medication (pills) and can't get them to take it, then Pill Pockets from Greenies are what you probably are looking for. We buy them for our dog and we have no problem with her taking her medication. She thinks she is getting a treat so she is actually excited about taking her medication. The even make them for cats. They have all different kinds of flavors for your pet. You can usually find them at any pet store or even your vet may carry them.

How to get nice smooth LEGS....

This is how I get my smooth LEGS...

Things you will need

  • Clean wash cloth
  • Body Wash (what ever one you use will work)
  • Hair Conditioner (in the past I was always asking what else can I with this stuff)
  • New or Semi New Razor (doesn't matter what kind but I use the Quttro)
  • Lotion (what ever one you use will work, sometimes I even use Coconut Oil)
You can do this in the shower or bath

  1. Exfoliate your legs with the wash cloth
  2. Shave those legs with the hair conditioner
  3. Exfoliate your legs again with the wash cloth
  4. Shave those legs again (trust me it works)
When your all done in the shower or bath and dry off put some lotion on your nice exfoliated legs.

Baked French Toast

8 slices of Texas Toast (any toast will do but you will have to watch how much you soak your bread if it is thinner bread)
5 eggs
2/3 cups milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tbs cinnamon

Spray baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Mix together eggs, milk and vanilla in a mixing bowl. In a separate mixing bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Take the sugar and cinnamon mixture and slowly mix it with the egg mixture. Mix till it's well mixed.

Take your bread and dip it in the egg mixture. then put the slice into your baking pan. Do this to all the slices of bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.

In the morning preheat the oven to 375. You can sprinkle a little more sugar and cinnamon on the top of the bread if you wish too. Let cook for about 10 to 15 minutes. It should just start getting a little brown on top. Let stand for about 1 minutes, then serve.

A Twist on Grilled Cheese

Hello all. Today I made myself a grilled cheese and thought this would be something good to put on the blog. So here we go.

I've always loved grilled cheese sandwiches (but who doesn't, right), but I always thought that they were a little to blah, so the one day a little after I had meet my fiance he was making us a grilled cheese sandwiches, BUT instead of using butter (the way I grew up making grilled cheese sandwiches) he pulled out the mayo. I said "Um why are you going to put that on the grilled cheese"? He said "This is the way I make mine. Just give it a try I promise you it will be good". So I trusted him and BOOM I now have a new way of making my grilled cheese sandwiches. It gives the sandwich so much more flavor. It is soooo good. I promise you try it and you may just like it. If you do try to make it this way please leave me a comment on what you thought of it.  I'm glad I was able to give you my (or should I say our) little twist on grilled cheese sandwiches. Yummy.

Our Dog Trixie & Congestive Heart Failure

What is Congestive Heart Failure?

Congestive heart failure (CHF) in pets is a serious, life-threatening condition that occurs when the heart is unable to pump blood to the body. This results in retention of fluid in the lungs or other parts of the body. Heart failure in dogs and cats may occur because of a defect in heart contractility due to a weakness in the heart muscle, or in other cases, because of the inability of the heart to fill adequately. Because of reduced blood flow to vital organs, congestive heart failure may result in abnormalities in your pet's organ function, including renal failure, hepatitis/liver congestion, or pancreatitis. A subnormal body temperature may be seen because of lowered blood flow to the brain and vital organs. Pets with congestive heart failure may also experience weight loss because of changes in appetite and nutrient utilization by the tissues of the body.

As of right now Trixie is taking 3 different kinds of medication. She gets 2 of her medication in the morning then 3 different medication at night. The medication that she's on is Enalapril, Vetmedin (generic is Pimobendan) & Furosemide.

We know the medication that she is on won't heal with the Congestive Heart Failure, but it will make it so that she isn't bothered by it.

She is a trooper and she's just being silly as ever.
